About Resin and How to Care for Your Pieces

  What is resin?

Resin is a 2 part, liquid medium that when mixed equally together, hardens into a form of solid plastic. The liquid is poured into an endless variety of silicone molds and over a 24 hour period, it hardens and takes the shape of the mold. It is used for numerous things such as table topcoats, woodworking projects, and most commonly arts and crafts!

How to care for your resin products:

  • DO NOT leave your resin piece(s) in direct sunlight or near a direct heat source for a long period of time. Resin may become flexible or “bendy”. This is not permanent and CAN be fixed! If your resin piece has gotten too hot and has deformed in some way, simply shape your piece back to its original form, and leave in a cooler area to reharden.
  • Your resin pieces can be cleaned with soap and cool water to remove any dirt or other impurities
  • Like plastic or glass, resin may crack or break if dropped so handle carefully.

Things to know!

  • Resin is 100% waterproof!
  • Resin is heat resistant but NOT proof. It CAN be used as ashtrays, incense burners, or coasters for warm drinks, however  It is flammable and may smoke or burn if direct flame is applied.
  • Resin is NOT food safe and should not be used to eat or drink out of.
